The winner in the Saeplast Challenge

A draw has been made to find the winner from among those who accepted the challenge of putting a crack or hole in a Sæplast tub at the recent Fisheries exhibition in Brussels. The lucky winner is Mr Ahmed Hamodi from the Polish company Makro and he will receive a price of an airline ticket for two between Iceland and one of the destinations of WOW Air in Europe.

At the exhibition, the visitors to the Sæplast stand were given the opportunity to test the strength of the tubs and a grand prize was offered to the person who was able to break a hole in a Sæplast tub. A total of 48 guests had a go at this test, armed either with a claw hammer or a sledgehammer. Only 8 participants were able to crack one layer of the tub and all the cracks were in the same place, near the bottom on the inside of the tub. This is not surprising because in actual use there is very little stress on this part of the tub and in its design the emphasis was on increasing the strength on the parts of the tub that come under the greatest stress. Since so few people were able to crack the tub it was decided to draw out a name from all of the participants in the game. The game caused a lot of attention and often a crowd of people would gather to watch the match between the guests and the tub. We would like to thank all of those who participated in demonstrating the strength of the Sæplast tubs.
