Sæplast's equal pay policy

Sæplast's equal pay policy

Sæplast is committed to guaranteeing all employees equal pay and the same terms and conditions for the same or equally valuable work so that there is no difference in pay.

Sæplast's goal is to be a sought-after workplace where all genders have equal opportunities at work.

The managers are committed to complying with the laws and regulations that apply to the activity. Sæplast has documented, implemented, and promises to maintain and continuously improve the effectiveness of an equal pay system that meets the requirements of the ÍST85:2012 standard.

An agreement has been made with the BSI certification body to carry out an annual assessment of Sæplast's equal pay policy and system. If the certification body makes comments regarding some jobs' salary composition, the composition will be revised following the suggestion and corrected.

In this context, Sæplast has implemented procedures and defined criteria for determining wages, where everyone is paid for their work based on its value, regardless of gender or other irrelevant reasons. Sæplast undertakes to enforce the equal pay policy in all respects.

Sæplast undertakes to:

  • Implement a certified equal pay system based on the equal pay standard ÍST 85:2012. It will be documented and maintained.
  • Carry out salary analysis at least once a year, comparing jobs of equal value and checking whether there is a difference in wages by gender, and presenting the main results to employees.
  • Respond to unexplained pay gaps.
  • Perform an internal audit
  • Hold an annual management review where the system's effectiveness is evaluated and set measurable goals for the coming year.
  • Comply with relevant laws, rules, and collective agreements in force at any time according to Act 150/2020.
  • Introduce this policy to employees and make it publicly available on the website.

The scope of the equal pay policy covers all Sæplast employees.

The managing director is responsible for the policy, and the human resources manager is responsible for its implementation, review and presentation to all Sæplast employees.
