Icelandic Fisheries Awards highlights success within the Commercial Fishing Industry

The award from the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition were presented at a ceremony on Wednesday, June 8th. The award put an end to the first day of the exhibition, which runs from the 8th to the 10th of October. June

The purpose of the award is to honor excellence in the Icelandic and international fisheries sector and to shed light on the most imaginative and original products, as well as to award recognition for outstanding products and services.

This year's awards are sponsored by Vónin, Bureau Veritas and Morgunblaðið. The winners were selected by a committee of experts chaired by Guðjón Einarsson, former editor of Fiskifréttir, and Jason Holland, editor of World Fishing & Aquaculture Magazine.

Sæplast received special recognition for winning in the category "Outstanding Processing sector value creation, large company > 50 staff".

Sæplast introduced a new container designed with an emphasis on lowering transport and storage fees, ensuring the quality of fish, reducing the greenhouse effect and maintaining safety during erosion. The so-called twin containers work together to ensure quality and space utilization at the same time as they contribute to savings.
