Sæplast supports The Aurora Fund

This fall Sæplast had the chance to support an interesting project started by the Aurora Fund.

The Aurora Fund is a foundation that aims to enhance and strengthen cultural and humanitarian activities in Iceland and abroad. Emphasis is focused on supporting projects that can make a difference, that inject hope and optimism into a community, according to the website www.aurorafund.is

In january 2015 Aurora Fund signed together with KIMI SARL and the government of Sierra Leone to take over the operations of four fish landing sites in Goderich, Tombo, Shenge and Bonth. Those were built in 2012 by African Development Fund to promote the fishing industry in the country.

Aurora Fund asked for Sæplast´s support and Sæplast sent plastic containers suited for the protection of the product from the hot climate of Africa. The containers are insulated with a polyurethane that helps to keep the cooling longer and therefore the valuables in the product.

We at Sæplast hope that the containers will come at great use and we thank The Aurora Fund for an important support of Sierra Leone.
