Sæplast is committed to protecting the environment
Let's talk about our new 460 ECO container, our latest model designed with sustainability and efficiency at its core. Developed in response to the growing need for a more eco-friendly solutions, this container brings significant improvements in weight, capacity, and environmental impact without compromising the durability our customers rely on.
The 460 ECO weighs in at 42 kilograms. This new weight enhances both safety and ease of handling, making it more practical for workers both at sea and within processing facilities. Importantly, the design also means that the ECO tub can hold approximately 5% more fish than earlier versions, providing a tangible benefit in terms of capacity while still meeting the standards of our customers.
One of the most notable features of the ECO tub is its environmentally conscious production process. We have transitioned to renewable energy for the rotomolding phase, eliminating oil-based methods. This shift not only reduces emissions but also represents a substantial change in the industry, as we aim to set a new standard for sustainable manufacturing practices.
Furthermore, the ECO tub itself is crafted with recycled materials, specifically repurposed plastic from older tubs. This approach supports a circular economy, as materials are reused and repurposed, reducing waste across the entire production and lifecycle of the tub.
In addition to these ecological benefits, the ECO tub’s lighter weight reduces the amount of plastic that needs to be transported, resulting in lower emissions and energy use throughout its lifespan. Despite these changes, the ECO tub retains the strength, durability, and reliability.
At the end of its lifecycle, each tub is fully recyclable, allowing it to be transformed into new containers and contributing further to sustainable production goals.
With the ECO container, we continue to lead in solutions that prioritize both performance and environmental responsibility. It exemplifies our commitment to advancing industry practices toward a more sustainable future, ensuring that every step, from design to production to recycling, is made with longevity and ecological impact in mind.
