The president of Iceland, mr. Gudni Th. Johannesson opened the Seafood Conference in Iceland nov. 24.-25.

This weekend the annual Icelandic Seafood Conference was held in Harpa Conference Centre in Reykjavík with about 14 sessions and 70 lectures about the problems and progress of the industry. 

The Seafood Conference in Iceland is an annual, two days conference focused on important aspects in the seafood industry funded by admission fees, variations of sponsors and advertisements. Founded by around 100 individuals, companies and organizations in Iceland in 2015, the idea of the conference is to be a platform for people from the industry to meet and discuss important areas of common interest. 

The main goal of the conference is to support communication, relationships and the ongoing progress and ideas born from individuals every year.

Since the first conference the attendance has been great, this year over 800 people came from all segments of the industry.
